Is it wrong of me to kind of like these …? They look like people just didn’t give a fuck about their writing assignments, but I actually think most of these are creative or fit with a certain personal style.
Like the one that says “her vocabulary was as bad as, like, whatever.” That really shows how horrible this girl’s vocabulary is in a creative and frankly amusing way. And the one with the lame duck - I laughed at that. I thought it was funny, and I want to know more about this guy.
And the one with the girl who laughs like a heaving dog - I know exactly what that sounds like, and if someone actually had a laugh like that, it would be funny.
So from the polished one-way-street perspective of all the English majors out there, yeah this list must look pretty ridiculous. But from the perspective of someone who just likes to read a lot of different things and appreciates many different styles of writing, this list isn’t as bad as everyone’s making it out to be.jOHN AND MARY
